I am falling for a dream
A creation of my soul
Someone to know that secret part of me
The piece of my heart not yet shattered
For beneath the ice and cynicism
There's a need to believe in love
I am reaching for an angel
Who hovers beyond my grasp
I feel the breeze his wings create
But never feel the peace
Heaven stands a breath away
And still I am imprisoned by hell
I will awake to heartbreak
There is a corner of my mind
That wishes he would come to me
Morning light will expose the folly of my naivete
The cruel innocence that only escapes
When I give in to slumber
Tomorrow I'll know the truth once more
Love is no more than a beautiful myth
Dreams and angels do not exist
Within life's harsh reality
But tonight I will revel in magic
